About Tiesto
Tiësto, whose real name is Tijs Michiel Verwest, is a hugely successful Dutch DJ and record producer who is widely regarded as the ‘Godfather of EDM’. Tiësto first began releasing music in 1997 from the record label Black Hole Recordings which he co founded with Arny Bink. In 2001 Tiësto released his first solo album, “In My Memory”, with several of the tracks becoming major hits that helped to launch the DJs career. Following this album release Tiësto was voted as the World’s Number One DJ by DJ Magazine in its annual Top 100 DJs readership poll for three consecutive years from 2002 to 2004.
Tiësto’s achievements are both extensive and impressive. He was the first DJ to play live on stage at the Olympics at the 2004 opening ceremony in Athens, he has also been voted as the “Greatest DJ of All Time” by Mix magazine in a 2010/2011 fan poll and voted as the “Best DJ of the last 20 years” by DJ Mag in 2013.

- Tiësto has his own special edition Reebok trainer featuring an orange colour scheme, his name and music inspired designs.
- The DJ didn’t always go by the DJ name Tiësto, at one point he was known as Da Joker, DJ Limited, Allure, Paradise in Dubs, and more.
- Tiësto has been knighted by the Queen of Holland for his contribution to music.
- Tiësto is the first DJ in history to sell out a solo concert in a stadium.
