Taylor Swift announces new tour

Posted 01 Nov 2022

Taylor Swift has announced that she will be on tour stadiums in the US, with international dates coming soon. Her newly announced Eras Tour will be the first time since her 2018 Reputation outing. She termed it “a journey through the musical eras of my career (past & present!)”.

The official website states that international dates will be confirmed soon for Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour. The tour kicks off March 18 in Glendale, Arizona and ends August 5 in sunny L.A. Taylor will be performing at stadiums across the US which include Las Vegas, Atlanta, Houston and more.

She tweeted: "I’m enchanted to announce my next tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, a journey through the musical eras of my career (past & present!) The first leg of the tour will be in stadiums across the US, with international dates to be announced as soon as we can!"

Support will come from special guests like Paramore, beabadoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, girl in red, MUNA, HAIM, GAYLE, Gracie Abrams, and OWENN. These openers included in the line-up of the tour will be involved depending on the location.

The announcement came after her worldwide success with her new album, ‘Midnight’, which is her tenth studio record.

The release of the album was announced in August, 2022. The 32-year-old singer used her acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards to reveal her 10th studio album is on the way. On social media, she shared the title and cover of the 13-track album, describing it as “the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life”.

She wrote: “This collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams.” The album was then released on October 21, 2022.

Taylor Swift is set to announce a UK headline tour in support of her new album 'Midnights'. Her official fan page previously teased a forthcoming UK tour, so we can be assured that it is definitely on the way. This would be her first UK tour in five years.

Taylor's last UK tour came in the form of the Reputation World Tour in 2018, which has been her most successful tour to date. It was the fifth concert tour by the singer in support of her sixth studio album, ‘Reputation’. She was joined by Camila Cabello and Charli XCX during her shows at Manchester's Etihad Stadium and at Wembley in London.

Afterwards, in 2019, the American icon played the Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball 2019, which took place at The O2 in London. However, her scheduled dates in 2020, which included BST Hyde Park and Glastonbury, were cancelled.

She originally planned two Lover Fest performances in 2020, to begin in April, 2020, behind her seventh album but the tour was postponed and then later cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It originally consisted of 10 shows in Europe, two in South America, and five in North America.

That makes the Eras Tour Swift’s first run of shows in four albums: Lover, her 2020 surprises folklore and evermore, and Midnights. The tour announcement shows this with photos of her throughout her career.

It was stated earlier in the year before the 'Midnight' album was released that fans who pre-ordered the album would receive a pre-sale code to access tickets for the yet to be announced show dates. This was mentioned in a post on the artist's official UK website.

Those who were signed up to Swift’s mailing list then received an email outlining the terms and conditions. The pre-order makes them to be automatically eligible to purchase tickets in the pre-sale of the show.

However if you’re not fortunate enough to make the pre-sale you can purchase Taylor Swift concert tickets through reputable ticketing platforms.

Ever since the singer announced her latest album, the 'Midnights' fans have been following her movements closely, and waiting for a tour announcement.

“UM. Looks like I’ll get to see more of your beautiful faces than previously expected … we’re adding 8 shows to the tour,” she tweeted on November 4.

She's expected to perform some of 'Midnight' tracks including ‘Anti-Hero’ and the collaboration with Lana Del Rey, ‘Snow on The Beach’. She also has two rerecorded albums to promote, ‘Red’ and ‘Fearless’, and her ten-minute ‘All Too Well’ would work well as an encore.
